How Good Are The Online OzBargain Deals for SG?

The offers from Banggood, Gearbest, AliExpress etc.

How good are they for buyers from Singapore? Do they compare well to Lazada or Taobao or Shopee in terms of pricing overall and for the Singapore dollar?

Any opinions or experiences?

Those deals from Banggood, Gearbest, AliExpress, etc are actually available globally, and some promotional items do offer great price comparing to local market price that's only serving Singapore and its 5.6 million people.

The Google play and iTunes free apps deals are mostly available for Singapore as well. If a moderator marks a deal global (similar to targeted), it will appear on all OzB sister sites (just kidding)

Ha I wish it's that straight forward.

I actually wanted to comment before but I figured it was too late…
In my opinion, should have had the same database as OZB, thereby allowing posters on OZB to post onto Choice Cheapiers and Cheap Cheap Lah. Could be done by a tickbox when posting a deal "Which of these countries is this deal applicable for", etc etc

There are some great global deals that get posted onto OZB that could be easily just as applicable for NZ and SG, such as Amazon (SG has free shipping from Amazon!), ebay deals (bit tricky, to get the coupon deals I think you need an AU paypal account and buy from ebay AU, but if the seller will ship then you can get the deal from overseas), the Chinese warehouses (banggood, aliexpress, gearbest), flights (not always, but especially with LCCs sometimes the sales are applicable on one way basis, so its the same price say SIN-SYD as it is SYD-SIN).
Right now, you dont see these posts on CCL unless someone is kind enough to do a manual repost (which happens only very occasionally so far).

There are some complications making them the same database. However we could make it easier to repost some deals across our sites.

          @scotty:

That would help a lot mate.

Also noticed a lot of Chinese warehouse websites starting to limit IPs and delivery address to Aus or Aus&NZ on deals posted on ozb. Would be nice to remind them of CCL in sg :)

@qazwsx: Need to grow this community so it would be worthwhile for them to provide SG-exclusive deals. Otherwise I can ask contacts there to see whether they can include SG for those offers.

@scotty: Just wondering, do they stand to lose significant amount of money if they allowed SG customers as well? Of course there will be usual time or quantity limit on the deal so only fraction of total quantity will be sold at discounted price. I understand the shipping has to be taken care of but most of the websites already ship to Singapore. So genuinely curious why they do not include SG in the deal.

@jtrvk: I think with the size of CheapCheapLah (comparing to OzBargain and other deal sites) they probably just think it's not worthwhile to give discount.

Would be good though to have those sales available in SG, especially before the Singles day in 2 weeks.

Understandable. There needs to be at least few redemptions of the code they make available for us.

Hoping that. Lazada already has banners on its site gearing up for the big sale.
