iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus - any bargain?

We all know the news. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. iOS 10. Camera bump. No 3.5mm audio jack. The cost starts from S$1,048 for an iPhone 7 32GB at Apple store, all the way to S$1,588 for an iPhone 7 Plus 256GB. I can never see myself spending that much for a piece of portable technology that will be superseded within a year, but for some people it's their tool of trade and worth every penny.

What do you think of it? Would you buy one? Where can you find the best price in Singapore?

I will not buy one. First thing as you mentioned is the price for the phone. The technology gap between Apple and competitors is decreasing but the price is not. In fact they are overtaken in most of the departments by other manufacturers. I agree iPhone is combination of above average things out there. For example, dual camera was implemented by LG in G5 but they lack in terms of other things. Stereo speakers were implemented by other manufactures. Samsung AMOLED is amazing but Apple screen is no slouch. So iPhone is combination of almost best of everything collectively. But that does not justify the price for me as some simple compromises can mean a huge difference in price.

Second thing is the iOS and iTunes. I think this is personal preference and may not be true for everyone but I absolutely hate iTunes. Alternatives like iFunbox are there but they can't exactly replace iTunes. Lack of OS customization is again age old topic and I don't see it changing anytime soon. I am not saying Android is without flaws but the price that I am paying makes it easy to look past them.
