Hi I just recently came back from Australia and I noticed a stark difference between the two sites. Unlike OzBargain, Cheapcheaplah is almost dead with little to no deals + they aren't as attractive as OzBargin.
Was just wondering whether things would be better if cheapcheaplah was more popular. Perhaps this will give shops an incentive to give better deals since now there is a site which consolidates all the deals.
To be honest, thinking back to Ozb type deals, I tend to think that despite sitewide deals hypothetically being better deals for the reason that they apply to a greater variety of products, it's much less focused and means people that are interested in certain, specific things might not gloss over it as a sitewide deal.
As an example, Nike is doing 20% off sitewide. However, I'm interested specifically in a soccer ball. After 20% off, their $30 soccer ball is now $24, which is actually a good deal, but with it being "20% off sitewide", I don't necessarily connect the dots that 20% off sitewide means a $24 soccer ball.
Having now written this, I think it might be more of a perception/personal problem (LOL), but I personally found focused deals more interested than generic/sitewide deals on Ozbargain.
Having said that, when it comes to sitewide deals, if there were enough comments from users sharing specific good deals on specific items, that would also be good.
What often happened was that someone might post a site-wide offer because that's what has been advertised (via banner or promotional email). Once it's popular enough, other members might post deals of specific items. For example eBay's site wide coupon & subsequent individual offers coming out from that. NIKE.com as well, as people usually have an idea what other people are looking for (as they were previously popular).
What we are still trying to figure out is getting the Singaporeans to share deals they found, i.e. we already have the platform just need a community. Any tips?
Can you make partnerships with local online communities? Maybe ask ShopBack AU to help get ShopBack SG onboard as active reps here? Advertise/partner with HardwareZone? Can you get MoneySmart.sg to help somehow? Singaporeans love Australia, from my experience. Maybe rebrand it as OzBargainLah lol

Been a year since we asked them for cashback integration for Singapore — something we implemented on our end for Australia within a week. Recently we did a cashback site integration for New Zealand (ShopRewards.co.nz) which was literally done in 2 hours in an evening. Maybe someone can give them a nudge :)

Of course it would be "better" if CCL was more popular. That's exactly why you're making the comparison to Ozbargain in the first place, right?
CCL mostly offering food and stuff deals. There are many others options but all the deals are expired.
So where do we go for Computing or Electronics bargains in Singapore?
Yea, i have to admit that im surprised by how dead this site is compared to Ozbargain. Literally dozens of deals posted on ozbargain every day. Not sure what happened but theres a huge decrease in deals posted here. Nobody is posting any dining related deals anymore.
I dont know how ozbargain gets all the deals. Ive seen retailers posting deals on the site before, so maybe the site could encourage retailers here to do the same?

KFC has regular specials on their site that changes every week or so. Deepavali food specials for many restaurants were never listed here either.
Its clearly an issue of not enough people listing deals. Just click the "dining and take away" section and you will see what i mean.

Yeah CCL is only a few years old compared to OzB which is a decade old.
A lot of deals on OzB are pretty product focused compared to here where I'm trying to source more of the wider offers like sitewide sales.
